Cannot run HASP codes with hcode files (2022 and later)

Cannot run HASP codes with hcode files (2022 and later)

Problem:

User cannot run the .hcode file correctly to allow computer to run HASP, despite drivers being present (light on HASP is on).

Cause:
The HaspX utility is not installed with Mastercam after 2021. Users who are moving to 2022 or later on a new machine but are still running a HASP won't be able to run hcode files without HaspX installed.

Solution:

Download and install HaspX, then run the .hcode file:

  • Go to Mastercam.com

  • Hover over Support, down to Technical Support, then select Drivers and Utilities

  • Download the most recent Hasp Update Utility

  • Unzip the folder to the location where you want HaspX to live.

    • Make sure to extract the entire folder, do NOT attempt to only extract HaspX from the zipped folder. The additional folders in the zip are required.

  • Run HaspX from the unzipped folder

  • Check the .hcode file. If it now has an icon matching the HaspX utility you can double click it to run the update code

  • If the icon does not match HaspX you can click the Update code button and select the .hcode file manually

Note:  Users who also run a .machine environment will also receive wibu code file(s) with the .hcode files. These can be run by double clicking as long as Mastercam has been installed. Users may need to restart CodeMeter service to update the license files.
