Installing and Migrating to Mastercam 2024
Mastercam 2024 was released on June 1st, 2023. It is recommended that all customers who are current on their maintenance install and migrate to Mastercam 2024.
Requirements
- Average time to process: 15-60 minutes (dependent upon speed of computer hardware and size of Shared Mastercam folder.)
- You must have a maintenance expiration date of May 31, 2023 or later (you can verify this inside Mastercam, File Tab > Help > Maintenance Date on the right-hand side of the page)
- Windows 10 or 11 - 64-bit operating system. It will not run on a 32-bit OS.
- A Mastercam.com user account (free to create)
- An understanding of where your Shared Mastercam folder is located (either locally in your public documents folder [default,] or hosted on a network drive [custom.])
- The Shared Mastercam folder you're migrating from must not be older than version 2021. If you are from Mastercam 2020 or older, you will need to Migrate those files forward using a version of Mastercam which is within 3 years of your current version of Mastercam.
Video instruction
- Navigate a web-browser to www.mastercam.com
- In the upper-right corner of the menu, click "login"
- Enter your mastercam.com user account name and password. If you do not have a user account, you can create one for free from the "Create One" link on this page.
- Once logged in, be sure you are redirected to https://my.mastercam.com/hubs/mastercam-2024/
- Click the red Download Now button to begin your Mastercam 2024 download.
- Once downloaded, browse to the location of the mastercam2024-web.exe installer (likely your downloads folder) and double click to run the installer.
- When the installer loads, select Mastercam 2024 Installs and step through the rest of the installation wizard. It is okay to install the software to the default locations.
- Once the installer finishes, launch Mastercam 2024.
- Inside Mastercam 2024, select File Tab > Convert > Migration Wizard.
- Select the Advanced option.
- Check on the option to "Migrate shared Mastercam files". Make sure the Source Folder location points towards your prior Shared Mastercam folder. You can use the Browse button to navigate to your prior Shared Folder location.
- Click Next.
- Uncheck "Part Files" from the top of the list. This is to save on migration time. Any part files you do have will naturally migrate to the current version of Mastercam when they are loaded and saved.
- Click Next.
- Leave all versions checked.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
